The Operator prepares, blends and mixes ingredients for product according to batch sheets and formulas.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to accurately record data
Ability to read chemical labels and follow safe handling procedures for food grade products
Analytical skills required
Must be able to work weekends, and varying shifts (days, evenings, nights)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Stand on your feet constantly during your shift and work in humid environment that fluctuates from warm to cold seasonally.
Routinely work from ladders.
Must be able to repetitively lift up to 60 lbs.
Position requires frequent lifting, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings.
Responsibilities
Works closely with the pasteurizer/processor to ensure timely delivery of product to the fillers.
Familiar with proper operation of the blending, product transfer, separation, and some pasteurization equipment.
Monitors and documents chemical concentrations to ensure proper cleaning of equipment.
Responsibilities include up to and including cleaning and sanitizing all silo tanks, vats, lines and fillers.
Prepares blends and mixes as needed for production according to batch sheets and formulas.
Maintains accurate and legible documentation during processing to include: efficiency and downtime reporting, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Master Sanitation documentation, SQF, blend and batch sheets and other documents as needed to meet regulatory requirements.
Stages and prepares ingredients for blending.
Works closely with the laboratory to ensure products are formulated and tested to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for taking and documenting all product samples to the lab as necessary.
Works closely with milk receivers to ensure proper product rotation of raw milk inventory.
Must keep work area and machines clean at all times.
Must complete all assigned paperwork.
Perform preventative maintenance as per department schedule.
